Measurement Tester Methods
There are five basic, non-destructive methods of coating thickness
measurement. Each method was devised to achieve cost-effective,
accurate, and repeatable results. Those methods are:
Eddy-current
Eddy-current coating measurement is a versatile and dependable
method that utilizes the principles of electromagnetic induction
to measure non-magnetic, metallic coatings over steel, and non-conductive
coatings over non-ferrous metals.
Magnetic induction
Magnetic induction uses a permanent magnet to create a field
for measuring surface thickness of non-magnetic coating over a
steel substrates.
Microresistance
Microresistance is ideal for thru-hole and surface copper measurements.
Beta backscatter
Beta backscatter is a versatile coating thickness measurement
technique that utilizes electron emissions to deliver accurate
readings.
X-ray fluorescence
The unmatched accuracy of X-ray fluorescence measurement is ideally
suited for small or odd-shaped components, or dual coatings.
