New Hand-Held CGX Gauge
Features Automatic Surface Scanning For Coating Thickness Measurement
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL (January 10, 2005) — Oxford Instruments
Coating Measurement (OICM) introduces the new CGX-S/2 gauge
for measuring the film thickness of paint or powder coating
on aluminum or steal over a large surface. The CGX-S/2 enables
you to scan a designated area and transmit high and low readings
directly to your PC. This feature is available throughout the
200 Series line.
In addition, with OICM's unique calibration feature,
it is possible to accurately measure coatings over pretreated
substrates. Without this capability, the ability to accurately
track varying coating thickness is compromised.
Expanded microprocessor capacity permits a time and date
stamp to be provided with each reading, essential to a completely
functional SPC program. The CGX gauges combine both eddy current
and magnetic induction measurement principles.
